Martin Jörg Schäfer is Max Kade Visiting Professor at JHU, and is both Professor in the department of Language, Literature and Media, and Director of the Institute of German Studies at the University of Hamburg. He is the author and editor of many books, including, most recently, Das Theater der Erziehung.
