Rachel Lewis is Associate Professor in the Women and Gender Studies Program at George Mason University. Her research encompasses transnational feminisms, race and immigration, queer studies, disability and mobility. She has two ongoing book projects, which “explore the relationship between queer media and lesbian human rights activism”: ‘Deportable Subjects: Lesbians and the Political Asylum Process’, and ‘Queer Intimacies: Visualizing Black Lesbian Desire in Post-Apartheid South Africa’.
