Xavier Oliver is a Ph.D. candidate in the English department. They are interested in 19^th and 20^th century American literature, phenomenology, the productive imagination, post-secular approaches to Black religious traditions, and African-American conjure narratives. They are also interested in the rhetorical functions of glitching, perceptual distortion, and world-breaking in narrative.
