Last week our c/BC CDT Jackson Hall attended the George C. Marshall Leadership and Awards Seminar in Ft. Knox, KY. The GCM Leadership and Awards Seminar is the capstone leadership development event for U.S. Army Cadet Command. It recognizes the top Cadets from each of the 274 Senior ROTC programs and from the United States Military Academy. This year’s theme was “Strengthening the Profession” with supporting events including challenging physical training, captivating guest speakers, and numerous networking opportunities.
CDT Hall had the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to a wide range of military professionals throughout this event. This included the Sergeant Major of the Army, the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Team, and the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center Command Team.
CDT Hall also got to join his peers as he participated in roundtable discussions highlighting topics like improving organizational leadership and current national security challenges.
When asked to share about his time at the two-day conference he had this to say:
“Over the event, I learned the importance of the soldier first mindset, and the important role that your NCOs play in mission success. Those mindsets and roles only are successful with trust, without it you cannot have a successful team. The event was a great opportunity to learn and develop myself as a leader, and I am thankful for the opportunity to attend!”
