“This summer I had the amazing opportunity to become a Platoon Leader for 560th Medical Ground Evacuation Company at Camp Casey in South Korea. During my 25-day training I got a wide variety of Platoon Leader experiences including conducting a company STX, successfully dispatching a vehicle convoy, and participating in weekly training meetings with our Company Commander. Additionally, I got to participate in trainings preparing soldiers for their Expert Field Medical Badge exam and practical evaluation. Taking advantage of being in South Korea I also got to go on a tour of the DMZ, explore Seoul, and try many new foods. One of the highlights of my experience was spending three days with the Republic of Korea Army Cadets where we we’re fully immersed in their summer training. I am so excited to bring what I learned back to the program and to my future experiences as an Army Officer.” -CDT Halpin
