Sergeant First Class John Nunez immigrated from Ligao City, Philippines, to Baltimore, Maryland, in 2006 and enlisted in the United States Army in 2014 as a Combat Medic. His assignments have included leadership positions within the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of five primary care clinics at Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Brigade Medical Treatment NCOIC for the 20th Engineer Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
SFC Nunez's military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, and multiple medical and logistics-related courses. His awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, the Army Recruiter Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Expert Field Medical Badge. He is currently assigned to the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. Recruiting Battalion and the Johns Hopkins University ROTC program, where he remains committed to developing future Soldiers and leaders. Outside of his military duties, he is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys playing football, basketball, tennis, and volleyball, and has a strong passion for cars, motorcycles, and outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking.
