The Ghana Intersession Program represents a collaborative effort from the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, the Center for Africana Studies, the Center for Social Concern, and the Study Abroad Office to bring to Hopkins undergraduates a unique experience that concentrates on inter-ethnic understanding, community service, and active learning. The trip aspires to maximize the Hopkins experience by challenging students to think about critical questions regarding social development, identity, race, politics and history.

Through a service learning project, students are also critically engaged with timely issues of development, community growth, and sustainability. We hope that this intra-institutional collaborative model will serve as a guide to deeper university collaborations to enhance and elevate the intellectual profile of our undergraduate student body.
