This fall, LACLxS will convene two important panels on key events in the Americas.

First, in conjunction with the Portuguese Language Program, we’ll host a panel on the upcoming presidential elections in Brazil on September 26 at 5:30pm. More information can be found here.

Second, we’re organizing a teach-in on the Struggle for Abortion Rights in the Americas on October 27. As Latin American countries, states, and municipalities expand reproductive rights, they are increasingly restricted here in the United States. What can we learn here in the US from the Latin American experience? Speakers will include academics, journalists, and activists. More information can be found here.
