The Program in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies is pleased to welcome Jennifer Eaglin, Associate Professor of History, Ohio State University and fellow at the Wilson Center’s Brazil Institute, to present:

Brazil’s Energy Past and Future

Drawing on her recent book, Sweet Fuel: A Political and Environmental History of Brazilian Ethanol and her new work on the history of nuclear power in Brazil, Prof. Eaglin will discuss the history and future of Brazilian energy regimes. Prof. Eaglin will chat with Douwe Schipper (History of Science, JHU) and Dr. Nicole Labruto (Medicine, Science, and Humanities, JHU) about the intersecting histories of alternative energy projects, political dictatorships, labor movements, and environmental change.
