The Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion collaborates with school leadership to shape the campus-wide effort to recruit, retain, and support a diverse faculty, postdoctoral, staff, and undergraduate/graduate student body. The assistant dean serves as a key partner for the university’s vice provost for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer in advancing the Roadmap on Diversity and Inclusion, Johns Hopkins’ institution-wide diversity and inclusion strategic plan.

Frias-Ohane comes to Johns Hopkins from the University of Utah, where she was assistant dean for diversity for the graduate school for more than six years. While there, she developed initiatives and practices to support recruitment, retention, and graduation of students from historically underrepresented groups. Before that, she was program coordinator for the McNair Scholars Program at Westminster College.
