The Krieger School of Arts and Sciences recognizes the hard work and dedication of our staff members through the Core Impact Awards, an annual staff recognition award.
This initiative honors individuals whose actions reflect the Krieger School’s values, create a meaningful, positive impact on our workplace, and help fulfill the school’s academic mission. Recipients receive a monetary award for their dedication and exemplary efforts.
Each spring, the Krieger School Human Resources team will call for nominations. All staff and faculty are asked to consider the full-time staff in their division or across the Krieger School with at least one year of service at the Krieger School.
The application for these awards is open until March 8, 2026.
Eligibility
- Must be a permanent, full-time employee of Johns Hopkins University in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences
- Must be in a staff position
- Must be in good standing with the university and have a satisfactory job performance review
- Must have a minimum of one year of service at the Krieger School
- Excludes
- Student employees and faculty
- Winners from previous years
- Deans Office Leadership in executive level appointed positions may be nominated but are not eligible to receive a monetary award

Kelly Clark, for Impact
Director, Teaching Academy
Kelly “is the embodiment of integrity, initiating and leading complex projects with university-wide impact to completion.” Her “follow-through, commitment, and accountability…has been a model for the entire project team.” She “solicits and incorporates feedback thoughtfully” and “checks in on student progress to help troubleshoot issues and celebrate successes.” When challenges arise, she “went into overdrive, making sure that all of us had what we needed,” creating an environment where others feel “appreciated” and supported.
Regina Coles, for Integrity
Senior Grants and Contract Analyst, Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences
Regina has a “resounding impact on the successful submission and awards of grant proposals.” She “goes out of her way beyond what is required,” is “always one to go the extra mile,” and “keeps our team functioning in the most essential of ways.” Her “incredible support” makes complex processes “effortless and easy,” and “without her, we would be lost.” In challenging moments, she “stepped up and [has] been a pillar of support as we try and navigate the challenging landscape.”
Donna Schriver, for Integrity
Administrator, Department of Biology
Donna “exemplifies the KSAS value of integrity through her reliability, diligence, and unwavering commitment to excellence.” She is “dependable, unselfish, uncomplaining, and extraordinarily competent,” taking ownership to “ensure accuracy and completeness.” When challenges arise, she “worked tirelessly,” “continued to push,” and “does whatever it takes to get the job done.” Her “professionalism and sense of responsibility build trust” across the department.
