The Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Programs is the chief academic administrator for the Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division of the Krieger School, which provides state-of-the-art graduate and professional programs. The division employs several hundred full-time and part-time faculty and staff, and serves more than 6,400 part-time graduate students in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and online.
Donahue comes to Johns Hopkins from Georgetown University, where she worked in multiple positions at the School of Continuing Studies since 2006. During that time she was responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Academic and Faculty Affairs Division; served as associate dean of summer school and special programs; was associate dean of professional and executive education at the university’s School of Foreign Service in Qater; and was associate dean of the applied management graduate programs. Before working at Georgetown, Donahue worked at American University as associate dean of The Washington Semester Program and as assistant professor and chair of the American Government Department.
Donahue received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Syracuse University. She holds a master’s degree in media studies from The New School in New York and a master’s degree in political science from Johns Hopkins. She also received her doctoral degree in political science from Johns Hopkins, so this is very much a homecoming of sorts for her.
