Johns Hopkins School of Medicine 2023

“I graduated from Georgetown University in 2016 where I majored in economics. I worked in quantitative consulting in the financial services industry for several years before the post-bac.

At Johns Hopkins, I had the opportunity to meet so many smart, motivated, caring people. I am still close with my friends from the program, who will not only be my colleagues in medicine but also lifelong friends. They just came to my wedding in August!

My medical tutorial was with Dr. Maria Trent, who specializes in adolescent/young adult medicine at Hopkins. I worked directly with patients educating them on our study, and she supported me in developing my own project, which was a big part of my application to medical school. Dr. Trent is the best and remains a trusted mentor!

My top advice to prospective postbac students is to apply! Medicine, including the post-bac, is a challenging path, but it is so worth it. I am so glad I took the risk of changing careers starting with the post-bac program.
