JHU Theatre is proud to host the Hope Mohr Dance Company in Merrick Barn.

An interpretation of Euripides’s tragedy, inspired by the modern tragedy of gender-reveal parties. A dance performance, with text, puppetry, and more. This event also is preceded by a panel discussion about responding to anti-trans legislation through art.

All events take place at the Merrick Barn on JHU’s Homewood campus.

San Francisco-based Hope Mohr Dance will be visiting JHU and performing their original work, Bacchae Before, a dance theater project co-directed by Maxe Crandall (playwright) and Hope Mohr (choreographer), inspired by the tragedies of gender reveal parties and Anne Carson’s Bakkhai.
