The Center for Visual Arts offers research-based and concept-driven Fiber courses that foster students’ exploration of Fiber Art. These innovative courses delve deeply into the historical, cultural, and contemporary contexts of Fiber practices, exploring fundamental and specialized topics through the craft of lace making, weaving, sewing, basketry, dyeing, knitting, and embroidery. Employing interdisciplinary practices, students are encouraged to approach the art-making process from both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional perspectives.
