The Center for Visual Arts, in partnership with the Baltimore Jewelry Center, a metal and jewelry maker space in Baltimore City, offers a special opportunity for JHU students to take classes at the BJC. Students will have the chance to explore both the functional and sculptural aspects of working with metal and jewelry, focusing on conceptual and practical design development. The course will cover various jewelry and metalsmithing techniques including piercing, filing, finishing, fabricating, soldering, forming, basic stone setting, basic embellishment techniques, and simple clasps.

Introduction to Jewelry and Small Metals
