Codi Renee Blackmon recently published “Race Conversations as Technical and Professional Communication” in Technical Communication and Social Justice.
In the article, Blackmon examines how race discourse functions as technical and professional communication across academic, professional, and public contexts. Drawing on a real-world example, scholarship, and a case study of the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s digital platforms, Blackmon shows how technical communication can foster meaningful dialogue about race and social justice. The article shows that technical communication can sustain effective race conversations through adaptable, collaborative, and justice-oriented practices.
