Rachel Young is a PhD candidate in the History of Art at Johns Hopkins University, with a specialization in early modern European prints. Her dissertation "Picturing Medium: Contours of the Italian Reproductive Print, 1565-1636" draws on media theory and technical art history to reassess a new genre of image in the decades around the turn of the sixteenth century. Research related to the project was recently published in Print Quarterly. Rachel has previously held fellowships with the Gerda Henkel Stiftung, the Istituto Universitario Olandese di Storia dell'Arte, Florence, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
