MBI Professor Hey-Kyoung Lee, in collaboration with Dr. Grace Hwang of the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory, has been awarded a new R21 grant from the NIH/National Eye Institute to begin preliminary experiments on a new research direction.  The goal of the grant is to determine whether low-intensity, focused ultrasound (LIFU) stimulation can be used to non-invasively activate deep brain structures for inducing cortical plasticity in adults.
