Education: MA in Conservation Studies, West Dean College

Jennifer Jarvis is a book and paper conservator in the Department of Conservation and Preservation for the Sheridan Libraries at JHU. Her work is primarily focused on the preventive care, treatment and exhibition of materials from the rare books collections at JHU (including the George Peabody Library, the John Work Garrett Library and Eisenhower Library) and the University Archives. Prior to coming to Hopkins she held positions at Columbia University and the Smithsonian Libraries. Jennifer has previously taught conservation graduate students from the Library and Archives Conservation Education (LACE) consortium program, where she lectured in the history of bookbinding and taught historic bookbinding structures through hands-on model-making. She has a M.A. in the Conservation of Library Materials from the College of West Dean, University of Sussex.
