Evan Loker is an educator and researcher specializing in US and Latin American literature. He received his PhD in English (Johns Hopkins University) and a BA and MA in Comparative Literature (UC Davis and New York University, respectively). His dissertation explores narrative and political innovations of mid-Nineteen century antislavery novels from the US, Cuba, and Brazil. As an instructor, Evan has taught classes on writing instruction, Caribbean literature, and film history, among other topics. Since 2020, he has worked as a writing tutor in The Learning Collaborative at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
