Jiyoung Kim is an ABD PhD Candidate in Political Theory at Johns Hopkins University and holds a BA in International Studies from the same institution. Her dissertation (“Composition and its Ethics”) focuses on ‘immanent compositional ethics’ as an alternative normative framework to that of moralism. In her work morality is conceived as grounded in a certain aesthetic regulation of affects, in relation to which her project draws on the work of philosophical, artistic, literary, and scientific thinkers to explore the consistency of a constellation of other orientations towards life.
