Nate Doherty holds a BA in mathematics from Penn State University, an MA in cultural and critical studies from Carnegie Mellon University, and a PhD in Renaissance English studies from Johns Hopkins University. His scholarly interests are as varied as his education and has published peer-reviewed articles on such diverse topics as noise musicians in Baltimore, the hybrid fiction of China Miéville, and the Tudor colonization of Ireland. In scholarship, teaching, and life he seeks to participate in communities and conversations across disciplines both in and outside of academia.
