Spring 2024 EAS Speaker Series Finalized

EAS Speaker Series Poster

Each semester, the East Asian Studies Program invites several prominent scholars from a variety of disciplines to present research talks in the East Asian Studies Speaker Series. We welcome faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and others to join us for these talks. This semester, all talks will be in person (although the location will vary). This spring events include presentations on immobilization and decolonization in Singapore between 1945 and 1953, China’s renewed interest in the century-old “family problem” and “women’s problem”, gender-based violence in Cambodia’s construction sector, changing protest repertoires in labor movements in neoliberal Korea, and decoding Braille in the Pokémon series.
