The East Asian Studies Forum and Review is the East Asian Studies Program’s biannual publication of interdisciplinary undergraduate research focusing on East Asia. Undergraduate students manage and produce every issue to promoting awareness and scholarly discussion of issues and topics of relevance for one of the most important vibrant, diverse and prominent regions of the world.
The Fall 2024 EASFR issue features ten articles, authored by students from JHU and other US universities, which have been grouped in three separate sections. East Asia Reflecting Back features articles that discuss the impact of East Asian historical cultures on pop culture obsessions as well conceptions of masculinity and religion. East Asia Reigning Over showcases articles focusing on how East Asian state powers govern their citizens, drawing on historical and contemporary examples. East Asia Looking Outwards documents international activities of East Asian countries.
