The EAS Speaker series for the Fall 2025 brings leading scholars and experts to our Homewood Campus for the EAS community to engage in engaging and thought-provoking conversations.
The talks will be held in Mergenthaler 266, from 12:00PM to 1:15PM. Here is the Fall 2025 line up:
- September 30, 2025: Prof. William Kirby, Princeton University, will lead a presentation on Universities in the Age of Authoritarianism.
- October 28, 2025, Prof. Juhn Ahn, University of Michigan, will talk about The Problem is Money? Inflation, Religion, and the Unmaking of Medieval Korea.
- November 4, 2025, Prof. Bryan D. Lowe, Princeton University will share his research on Village Buddhism in 8th and 9th Century Japan: A New Perspective from Archaeological and Manuscript Sources.
- November 11, 2025, Prof. Yang Zhang American University, will present on Insurgence in Interstice: The Peripheral Rise of the Taiping Revolution.
