East Asian Studies Seminar – Grant Application Workshop
September 20 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
The EAS Seminar is pleased to announce a special Grant Application Workshop, featuring Professor Lan Li, Assistant Professor in the History of Medicine, as the speaker; panelists Christopher Taylor, Postdoctoral Fellow in Comparative Thought and Literature, Wesley Sampias, Graduate Student in History, and Jiwon Kim, Graduate Student in Anthropology; and Mengqi Mercy An, from Comparative Thought and Literature, as the moderator. The workshop will focus on the intricacies of writing successful grant proposals, offering insights into the process—from identifying funding opportunities to crafting a compelling narrative.
The EAS Seminar is an interdisciplinary workshop for graduate students and faculty to present a pre-circulated work-in-progress. Organized by graduate students, the seminar also hosts methodology workshops, career-building workshops, and undergraduate senior theses presentations. The EAS seminar is free to attend and open to all. In Fall 2024, it is held in Gilman 208 on select Friday mornings at 10 AM. A zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person. If you would like to receive the paper for the week or the zoom link, please email Mercy An ([email protected]), Xueqian Zhang ([email protected]), or Susy Tekunan ([email protected]).
