SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONSNERAL MEETING

Scientific Communication Orientation sessions are this week.  You must attend and you MUST attend the section that you registered for in ISIS.

 

Scientific Communication course is a concurrent requirement with NS Research.  If you do not attend, then you cannot get credit for research.

NU RHO PSI

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Nu Rho Psi (NRP) is the undergraduate society for students interested in the nervous system.  Their activities encompass research, community service, program related and social events.

 

Stop by the Krieger/Ames Breezeway this Thursday, September 18th from 9:00 - 12:00 for “Brains on the Breezeway” to see what kinds of projects and events they participate in during the school year and pick-up a membership application. 

 

Applications are due on Monday, September 22th, which is the first general meeting with new members.

FALL TRAVEL GRANTS – SFN IN WASHINGTON DC

 

Here is your chance to see what a real scientific meeting is all about.  SFN will be held in Washington DC on November 15th – 19th and the Programs will be awarding travel grants for this event.  The travel grants cover membership to SfN, registration, travel and food for the day. All you need to get one of these grants is an interest in going to the meeting. 

 

Please fill out the Grant form  and bring it to the Program Office and see Laurie Troyer to register for SFN.

 

IMPORTANT:  Please have your unofficial transcript and your CV on a flash drive when you come to the office.

DAVID S. OLTON
RESEARCH AWARD

The David S. Olton Award is given on an annual basis to undergraduates engaged in any area of the biology of behavior broadly defined. Students of any major may apply for the award though Behavioral Biology, Neuroscience, and Psychology majors are especially encouraged to do so. The award is designed to help students who would otherwise be unable to complete research projects due to financial limitations and may be used to supplement stipends or to address equipment costs.
