Co-Sponsorship Request | Humanities Institute

At this time, our fall 2026 term co-sponsorship budget has been fully allocated. The deadline to submit a request for spring 2027 is October 14, 2026.

The Alexander Grass Humanities Institute supports a range of humanities-related events at JHU. We invite applications for co-sponsorship of programming that aligns with the AGHI mission.

Funding of up to $7,500 is available for activities such as lectures, conferences, colloquia, performances, reading groups, and workshops. Please see the funding request deadline above.

We will also consider requests for smaller grants of up to $2,500 on a rolling basis. There is no deadline for requests of $2,500 or less; applications will be reviewed until available funds are exhausted.

*Please note: If funding is approved, AGHI does not provide administrative or logistical support for co-sponsored events. AGHI will coordinate the transfer of awarded funds with your department, and applicants should seek guidance from their department regarding event administration and support.

Applications must include:

A detailed description of the event

An itemized budget that explains how the requested AGHI funding will be used in conjunction with funds from other co-sponsors

The AGHI board will review applications for the Fall semester in March/April and for the Spring semester in October/November. Applicants will be notified of awards in early April and November, respectively.

All event publicity must acknowledge the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute’s co-sponsorship.
