About Humanities in the Village events

Crowd facing forward listening to two Humanities in the Village speakers in January 2024.

Time: Always at 6:30 p.m. on the last Monday of each month

Location: The Ivy Bookshop patio, Mt. Washington (whenever weather permits) OR Bird in Hand bookshop, Charles Village.

Format: Scholars present short and publicly accessible excerpts of ongoing research in humanities subjects/projects, followed by spirited sessions of collective discussion and feedback.

Audience: These events draw a diverse audience of local teachers, students, professionals, activists, book lovers, and public intellectuals. The intimate setting provides scholars with the invaluable opportunity to fold critical dialogue into their ongoing projects.
