We would like to congratulate Holly Nelson (’23), who has won the 2023 Dante Society of America’s “Dante Prize” for her essay “Absolving Matelda: Engaging with Ecofeminism in Dante’s Purgatorio.”  Since 1887 The Dante Society of America has presented this prize for the best undergraduate essay in North America on a subject related to the life or works of Dante Alighieri.  Nelson wrote this essay as a final paper for Prof. Arielle Saiber’s Dante course in Fall 2022.
