Students who meet the criteria for honors will receive a special notation in the graduation program and on their transcripts.

An Honors Thesis approved by your faculty mentor is required to receive honors in addition to a 3.5 GPA and six credits of research. The honors thesis requires that you provide significant independent contributions to your research project.

During the semester prior to the semester of graduation, you must submit an Honors Application form which includes an abstract and must be signed by your faculty mentor no later than the final day to drop classes (approximately 1 month into the semester). More materials will be required the semester you graduate. See below.

Criteria

Departmental honors are conferred upon graduating seniors who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Cumulative and major GPA of at least 3.5.
  • Six credits of research related to Behavioral Biology.
  • Honors Thesis approved by the research mentor and a Behavioral Biology Faculty member.
