Class Of 2024

This summer I am working as a Program Assistant for the Community Impact Internship Program (CIIP) through the Center for Social Concern. As a program assistant, I help with organizing the logistics of the summer internship with a primary focus on maintaining relationships between our program and community partners we work with. I also help with the interview and selection process of our new cohort and prepare all the materials needed to challenge students as they go through this transformative and insightful internship.

I have participated in CIIP every summer of my undergraduate career- my first summer I was an intern with Thread, an organization that pairs high school students with support networks,  and my second summer I was an intern with Healthcare for the Homeless, working the social work team to update and compile resources as well as becoming more aware of the colonialist nature of the field of healthcare and ways to challenge my biases. The Behavioral Biology major has given me the opportunity to develop a critical lens when analyzing data and materials that are presented to me. Furthermore, in classes like Animal Communication Lab, I have gotten more comfortable with analyzing data and presenting it in a digestible manner, skills that have been tremendously helpful in my current experience as a program assistant.
