July 10, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 8:00 pm

Mosaic poster for "Blast Courses in the Humanities," including small tiles for ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, 18th-cen. Indian painting, dinosaur films, Caesar's assassins in art, maps of different kinds, an ancient Japanese poet, three German philosophers, a vista of a cape, and a fragment of ancient papyrus.

Blast Courses are back for Summer 2023 with 9 new classes!

It’s almost summertime—and that means another exciting run of Blast Courses in the Humanities!  AGHI is proud to return for our fourth year of Blast Courses, a series of interactive and free online courses open to all adults on a range of topics across the humanities. This year, we will offer 9 brand-new topics—on everything from ancient Egyptian food and drink, to Indian painting and personhood, to creative writing about the environment, and much more—all with some amazing instructors to lead conversations.

Courses descriptions are now available on our Blast Courses program page. Registration will begin on June 1st and continue throughout the month (or until courses are full).

Classes begin the week of July 10th, to continue twice weekly for five weeks.  Students are encouraged to read about all of our classes on offer this year, to see how each topic connects to bigger ideas and questions—and how these questions intersect with our daily lives now.
