The PHutures and PDCO offices are excited to invite you to our first ever Doctoral Government Career Day hosted at the Imagine Center on October 5 from 11am – 2pm.

The Doctoral Career Day will feature a variety of different organizations working in the government space including Booz Allen Hamilton, DC Health, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Institute of Standards and Technology, National Institutes of Health, and ORISE – Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. Please note that visa sponsorship availability varies by employer. 

This event will be a great opportunity for students of all backgrounds and interests to learn about the many different career pathways for government related work. There will also be many opportunities to network and speak directly with representatives from the different organizations.

Our day will include two different segments (Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the event):

Segment One: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

1. 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM Presentation on Government Careers by ORISE
2. 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM Panel Discussion with Employer Representatives
3. 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Open Networking

Segment Two: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

1. 1 on 1 Coffee Chats – Each attending organization will participate in these 10 minute coffee chats. These coffee chats can be an opportunity for you to learn more about career pathways, have your resume reviewed, or have a conversation to learn more about the organization. Due to limited availability, we ask that you only sign up for one coffee chat. If spaces remain open closer to the event there may be an opportunity to sign up for additional chats.
