Join us for the sixth screening of the Film in South Asia series, hosted jointly by the Global South Humanities Initiative and the Department of Anthropology. Professor Aamir Mufti will be introducing Shree 420, a 1955 comedy-drama by Raj Kapoor about a poor country boy who moves to Bombay and pursues his dreams of success while navigating the big city’s complex ethical landscape.

The Film in South Asia series is affiliated with Anthropology course AS.070.218 (01), but all members of the Hopkins community are welcome to attend screenings.
