Join us for the fourth screening of the Film in South Asia series, hosted jointly by the Global South Humanities Initiative and the Department of Anthropology. Professor Christopher Minkowski will be introducing Umrao Jaan, a 1981 period musical drama by Muzaffar Ali about the rise to fame of a nineteenth-century tawaif in British-occupied Lucknow.
