Humanities on the Mall: “The Physics of Democracy” with Sean Carroll and Hahrie Han

March 3 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Poster with new dates for Sean Carroll and Hahrie Han for Humanities on the Mall.

“The Physics of Democracy”

Join us for our next gathering of Humanities on the Mall with our speaker for MARCH 2024, Prof. Sean Carroll — in conversation with Prof. Hahrie Han! We will begin at 5pm for conversation, Q&A, and an exploration of the idea of “the physics of democracy“—building on both speakers’ work considering what we can learn about democratic societies by thinking of them as complex physical systems—and vice versa. We’ll also touch on Sean’s forthcoming book(s) in 2024 and Hahrie’s recent work with both the SNF Agora Institute and The P3 Lab.

For attendees: All are welcome—admission is free with any ID with a sign-in at the security desk upon entry. JHU affiliates should bring their Hopkins IDs to swipe in for the building.

Register here!

Join us for an amazing conversation and Q&A (plus a wine and cheese). Everyone is welcome, so invite a friend, a colleague, a family member, or a student. See you on the Mall!
