Peter Carey is one of three writers in history to have won the Booker Prize twice, first for Oscar and Lucinda and then for True History of the Kelly Gang. His Parrot and Olivier in America was shortlisted for the both the Man Booker Prize and the National Book Award.  

Born in Australia, Peter Carey lives in New York City.
