Virtual Info Session: PhD Pathway for Advancement in the Humanities and Social Sciences (PATHS)
October 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
@
Every summer, Johns Hopkins University’s Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity (URSCA) hosts the PhD Pathway for Advancement in the Humanities and Social Sciences (PATHS), a 10-week research program for visiting undergraduates.
PATHS invites emerging scholars from HBCUs, HSIs, and other MSIs across the country to participate in an intensive and innovative summer research experience, with continued mentorship beyond the summer months.
Participants in the PhD Pathway pursue research projects of their own design in a student-centered, collaborative setting that uses peer modeling to develop undergraduates as subject matter experts, and prepares them to apply for graduate programs in the humanities or social sciences. All participants receive travel to and from Baltimore, housing for the 10 weeks of the program, and a competitive stipend.
In this virtual info session, we will give an overview of the PATHS program, step through the application process, give tips on the various application elements, and answer questions. The info session is open to all prospective participants, as well as faculty/staff mentors who wish to learn more about the program.
