Boston University is one of 16 U.S. institutions selected by the AHA to host the SURE Program, a 10-week mentored research experience for undergraduates interested in healthcare-related fields. The program includes a $6,000 stipend, summer housing at BU, and the opportunity to present research at an AHA scientific meeting. Participants will also benefit from multilevel mentoring and virtual programming coordinated across all AHA SURE.

Eligibility:

  • Full-time rising sophomore, junior, or senior
  • Exemplary academic performance
  • Interest in healthcare-related fields

Important Dates/Deadlines

  • Program Dates: June 1–August 1, 2026 (includes onboarding and offboarding)
  • Abstract Presentations: July 29–30, 2026
  • Application deadline:  January 12, 2026
