The MHA is a separately accredited program by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) and is ranked 7^th in the nation by US news and World Report for health administration programs.  It is a professional degree, preparing future healthcare executives for management and leadership positions dedicated to improving health and health service delivery across all sectors. The Hopkins program focuses on the U.S. healthcare system and is well-suited for early careerists interested in managerial and leadership positions within hospitals and health systems, the health insurance industry, and consulting firms. The second year is an 11-12 month paid Administrative Residency (Hospital, Ambulatory Care, Health IT, Health System Enterprise, Insurance, Medicare Advantage organizations, consulting firms, government) through a program-facilitated match process so students graduate with one year of experience with 97-100% job placement within 3 months.
