International Studies majors Arusa Malik ’26, Henry Hung ’27, Maggie Tang ’27, and Sofia Gosain ’27, attended the 76th annual Student Conference on United States Affairs (SCUSA) at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York October 15-18. This year’s theme, “The Foundations and Future of America’s Global Power and Influence,” aimed to provide the context to discuss, debate, and exchange a wide range of perspectives and to better understand the nation’s emerging geopolitical challenges.
Arusa summed up the conference perfectly: “None of us got our first choice roundtable, but this allowed us to learn about new topics that we can bring a little bit of expertise back to our Hopkins classes. I have so much appreciation for the USMA after living, eating, and spending all day with the cadets over the week. All our respective groups were able to present to a panel of professors, Army Majors, and professionals, and Maggie and Henry’s groups (Global Financial Institutions and Competition in Space respectively) were selected to present to the entire SCUSA delegation on the last day!”
