The organization’s mission is to develop the next generation of leaders in global health and medicine, and it operates through two projects: The Global Health Leaders Conference at JHU and The Pre-Collegiate Global Health Review journal.
The Global Health Leaders Conference at Johns Hopkins University is a leading global health education program open to students in grades 9-12 of any nationality. Through our international virtual conference, students learn about issues in global health, public health, and medicine directly from world leaders in these fields through engaging lectures, forge connections with like-minded exceptional students from around the world, and share their own work and ideas on global health topics by having the opportunity to present in our Student Speaker Series.
The Pre-Collegiate Global Health Review (PGHR) is the first international peer-reviewed journal that features articles on global health topics by students in grades 9-12. PGHR accepts submissions from secondary students around the world and has no article submission or publication fees. The mission of PGHR is to increase youth involvement in global health by providing a platform for students to share ideas and research on critical global health issues. PGHR also exposes students to a peer-review publication process, educating them about effective communication of ideas and research.
