Applications are Open for the 2025 Public Health Undergraduate Scholars Program (PHUSP)

Program Overview:

The Public Health Undergraduate Scholars Program (PHUSP), held at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public Health is an eight-week residential program designed to encourage historically underserved college students to consider careers in public health. No previous public health experience or coursework is required.

  • Duration: June 9 to August 1, 2025
  • Location: University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public Health

Program Offerings:

  • Internship placements
  • Classroom instruction
  • Group activities
  • Mentorship
  • Participation in a 2.5-day research poster showcase at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia

Benefits:

  • $3,200 stipend
  • Round-trip transportation to Pittsburgh
  • Financial support for meals
  • On-campus housing and travel to Atlanta for the research showcase covered by PHUSP
