HOUR (Hopkins Office for Undergraduate Research) is dedicated to supporting and promoting undergraduate research at Johns Hopkins University. They offer various programs and opportunities for students to engage in independent research, scholarly, and creative projects. HOUR provides resources, mentorship, and funding to help students pursue their research interests and gain valuable experience. Exciting summer opportunities are now open and accepting applications. General Info for HOUR Summer Programs:

Eligibility: If you’re a full-time registered undergraduate in the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences, the Peabody Institute, or the Whiting School of Engineering (first-years, sophomores, and juniors) and in good academic standing, you’re eligible.

Note: Seniors and students graduating before June 1, 2025, are NOT eligible.

Application Deadline: February 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. No rolling deadlines—make sure all your materials and tasks are complete to be considered.

Award Amount: $6000 discretionary fellowship.

Programs:

SUMMER PURA: Continue or start your independent research, scholarly, or creative projects with a university mentor over the summer, free from curricular obligations.

To apply, you’ll need to: complete the application, upload your project proposal, upload a 1-page resume, and invite your JHU mentor (faculty, staff, or grad students) to upload a mentorship letter.

BDP Summer Program: Work full-time for 10 weeks with one of our Bloomberg Distinguished Professors (BDPs) and their affiliated labs, centers, or research groups. They’ll provide the projects, training, and mentorship.

To apply, you’ll need to: complete the application (including selecting up to 3 BDPs of interest), upload a 1-page resume, and upload your personal statement/s.
