About the Maryland Collaborative:
The Maryland Collaborative to Reduce Underage Drinking is a statewide initiative based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and University of Maryland, College Park. We partner with colleges, communities, and stakeholders to implement evidence-based strategies that reduce underage drinking and related harms, as well as other substance use challenges.
Overview:
- Position: Unpaid undergraduate student intern
- Study Focus: Alcohol and Cannabis Environmental Scans
- Location: Hybrid, primarily remote; Center located at East Baltimore Campus
Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly team meetings and other relevant meetings.
- Collect data from alcohol and/or cannabis retail establishments as part of environmental scan.
- Assist in keeping resources on website updated with latest resources and evidence.
- Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation for program evaluation purposes.
- Develop materials for programmatic use, including literature reviews, evidence briefs, fact sheets, infographics, and presentations.
Skills:
- Interest in alcohol and substance use prevention or community health.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
Important Dates:

- Retention Through: Spring semester (May 2025) with option to continue
