Internship Opportunities: The IRC in Baltimore offers unique internships that provide opportunities to develop various skills and gain hands-on experience. We strongly encourage interested applicants to apply for multiple programs.
- Career and Financial Coaching Intern: Assist IRC employment specialists with job searches, interview preparation, and small group job readiness training sessions.
- Community Engagement Intern: Support volunteer programs that help refugee students and families succeed through community integration.
- Cultural Orientation Intern: Design and deliver training sessions on topics such as financial management, housing, and cultural adjustment.
- Health and Social Integration Intern: Connect at-risk clients to healthcare, education, resources, and psychosocial support.
- Housing Intern: Assist with planning and delivering housing program activities, including setting up new apartments andconducting home visits.
- Immigration Legal Services Intern: Experience the basics of immigration processes and procedures, including applications for green cards and naturalization.
- Intake Intern: Meet directly with clients and families to conduct eligibility assessments and refer them to relevant IRC programs.
- Operations Intern: Support daily in-office tasks that contribute to office functions.
- Resettlement Intern: Assist the resettlement team with welcoming and supporting newly arrived refugees.
- Walk-In Services Intern: Help the walk-in team with daily activities that support newly arrived immigrants.
- Youth Intern: Support refugee students and families in U.S. schools and facilitate parent engagement.
- HR Intern (Administrative Support): Manage paperwork, improve system efficiencies, and support the employee lifecycle.
Internship Details:
- Format: Internships are in-person, including a mix of office environment, remote work, and field time within the Baltimore area.
- Dates: Start with an in-person orientation on Monday, January 13th, 2025, followed by regular weekly hours from January 14th, 2025, to April 11th, 2025.
- Hours: Minimum of 15 hours per week for 13 weeks, with at least one day per week in the office.
- Reimbursement: Internships are unpaid, but university credit may be arranged. Eligible for per diem reimbursement at $15 per day to offset food and travel costs. Mileage reimbursement available for approved activities.
