Book Talk: Press, Power, Privilege, and Public Health in the United States: Theory & Practice
November 18 at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm
The Common Question, in partnership with the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Johns Hopkins Writing Center, and the Medicine, Science, and Humanities major, invites the Johns Hopkins community to Book Talk: Press, Power, Privilege, and Public Health in the United States: Theory & Practice, a discussion of the Oxford University Press anthology edited by Lorraine T. Dean (Bloomberg School of Public Health) and Keilah A. Jacques (School of Nursing).
This event explores how power and privilege shape healthcare, education, and science—and how we can contribute to a more equitable system. The evening will feature an interactive conversation with the editors and a distinguished panel of guests, including Graham Mooney (JHU), Eric Cesar Morales (Philly Thrive), Sharon N. Jones-Eversley (Towson University), and Lawrence T. Brown, author of The Black Butterfly. Introductory remarks will be delivered by Ebony McGee (School of Education). A shared meal will be provided.
