This intersession, January 17-19, 2018, a group of 16 Hopkins undergraduates participated in the inaugural DC Career Trip hosted by the International Studies Program and the newly established International Studies Alumni Affinity Group.  IS alum Joel T. Meyer ’04 led the three day event inviting speakers to come and talk with the students about career fields related to political campaigns, international development, the intelligence community, international and national security law, non-profits, and international economics.  The students also had the opportunity to visit the U.S. Department of State, the Council on Foreign Relations, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.  As an added bonus many of the speakers were Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and/or SAIS graduates, demonstrating for the students that a Hopkins International Studies degree will take them far.
